How to get to Sinai

From Cairo

By Flight

 Flights are the quickest way to travel from Cairo to Sharm el Sheik, with many daily departures .  Egyptair, El Masraya, and Air Cairo Airlines.

Travel time: 1-1.5 hours

Cost: 40-100 USD

To Sinai by Land (Sharm ,Dahab, Nueiba, Taba Heights)

The fast Nakhil road is currently closed to tourists. All land travel go. Saint Catherine or Sharm El Sheik  roads.Delayd can occur due to canal crossing, check points and general pace of Egypt travel.

ps: Saint Catherine route boasts stunning scenery.

By Bus

The more comfortable way.

Be sure to check the "Go Bus Egypt" website or other providers for current

schedules and fares.

Frequency: several a day

Travel time: About 10-12 hours

Cost: 300-600EGP (depending of the bus class)

Booking: While online booking is convenient, this websites can sometimes 

 be unavailable. Its possible to purchase your ticket directly at the station.

Ask your hotel  to help you buy a ticket .Arrive at the station an hour before departure to purchase your ticket.

Notice:  East Delta bus company also provide Daily Cairo-Taba (via Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba)16hrs+ due to stops. Choose faster option if available. (200 EGP)

 

By Microbus -Shared Taxi (12 seats)

The fastest way

Frequency: Microbus depart several times a day. 

Travel Time:  7-9 hours.

Cost: around 300-400 EGP

Booking: For a smoother experience, booking by phone is recommended. This allows you to communicate directly with" Webus" they understand the needs of tourists and can offer assistance if needed.

By Taxi/Private ride

Travel time: About 7-8 hours

Cost: 250-350$ USD. Depends where in Sinai

From Other cities

From Hurghada /Luxor To Sharm el Sheik

Flights to Luxor once a week (usually Wednesdays or Saturdays).

From Alexandria, Ismaelia, Luxor,  El Tor To Dahab/Sharm el Sheik

Daily local Microbuses

 

From Aqaba, Jordan  To Taba or Nuweiba

Nuweiba: Accessible to all nationalities with visa on arrival or e-visa.

Taba: Not  for all nationalities due to visa restrictions.

From Aqaba to Nuweiba at 22:00 daily.

From Nuweiba to Aqaba at 12:00 daily.

Ferry Boat: 3 hours ,80-100 USD

Booking: Ab Maritimes

From Eilat, Israel (Taba Border)

The border works 24/7, except for the Eid al-Fitr (Islamic holiday )and Yom Kippur(Jewish Day of Atonement)

Crossing fees: 

Israeli Exit Fee: 109 ILS

Egyptian Entry Fee:705  EGP

An additional 25 USD is required for an Egyptian visa if you plan to travel beyond Sinai to other parts of Egypt
